Yes!! You can use emoji characters when sending messages within RevenueWell Messenger.
You can begin a conversation with a patient and within the conversation's text bar there is an emoji icon to represent the emoji window. The user can select the desired emoji and it is added to the text bar.
Search for an Emoji(s)
Emojis are categorized by their type and name. You should be able to find the emoji that you are looking to send. Some details involved with searching are as follows:
- Emoji will be broken into sections (Most Frequent, Smiles & People, Animals & Nature, Food & Drink, Activity, Travel & Places, Objects, Symbols, Flags)
- Most frequent will be the most frequently used 16 emoji by the user
- When searching the list should filter by Emoji names containing the character string typed into the search. A typing of "smile" should filter the entire list of supported Emoji to those containing that character string
- Should no Emoji contain that character string, a "no results" screen will be shown in the Emoji screen.
Considerations for Emojis
The selection of emojis that an office can use through RW Messenger is a safe list that is appropriate for communication between a practice and patient. Although our list of emojis has been altered to be safe to send emojis, what a practice can receive is dependent on what their browser can display. Even if the practice can't send a particular emoji, they can still receive it.
There are some emoji that patients will send that may be too new for a practice's browser and these will probably display as a square or double bracket
