Robocalls are automated calls that use pre-recorded messages and are often used by scammers. In 2020 alone, there were nearly 49 billion robocalls in the U.S., which has made people less likely to answer calls from unknown numbers.
To help combat this issue, the U.S. is implementing end-to-end call authentication. This means our partner, Twilio, now requires a verification process for your phone number to ensure it can be used for appointment confirmations through our Marketing Platform.
To verify your number, please follow these simple steps:
- Step 1: Open the Settings (gear icon within the unified wrapper).
-
Step 2: Click "Phone Number Verification"
-
Step 3: If you have a phone tree, enter your extension.
-
Step 4: Click the button "Click Here to Receive a Phone Call."
-
Step 5: You’ll get a phone call requesting a 6-digit verification code. Input the 6-digit code on the screen to finalize the verification.
-
Step 6: If successfully verified, you will see a confirmation screen.
-
Step 7: If verification fails, you will be prompted to try again.
-
Step 8: Once verified, you will be able to see your verification status on the Caller ID Verification settings page.

Important: Phone Number Verification and Caller ID Verification are different processes. RevenueWell supports Phone Number Verification, but changing your business caller ID depends on the type of phone service you use.
- Landlines - You can contact your landline carrier's customer support to request a change to your caller ID. You can only change the name, not the number, and it can take weeks for customers to see the change. You can also try getting your phone listed in the CNAM database to verify your caller ID.
- VoIP and cloud phone systems - You can usually change your caller ID details online through your admin page. If you can't find the option, you can contact customer support for help. Updates usually happen within 24 hours.
