ADA TV: Setup Instructions

  1. ADA® TV is an entertainment and marketing system for waiting rooms that empowers your dental practice to customize and stream content that will educate, entertain, and promote your services to patients on the TV in your reception area and chairside. Rather than streaming the news, random channels, or repeat sitcoms, with the ADA® TV streaming app, you can:

    • Educate: Stream popular ADA Toothflix 2.0 patient education videos in English and Spanish, plus other valuable tutorials  
    • Promote: Include content that elevates special services and elective procedures available at your practice
    • Customize: Control the content and organization of your playlists to match your unique needs  
    • Entertain: Grab attention with local news, weather, sports, and YouTube clips
    • Alert: Add real-time newsfeed tickers for sports, finance, weather, and news

    Step 1: Upon purchase, you will receive an email that contains the Set Up Questionnaire. Based on the preferences indicated in the questionnaire, our team will configure your streaming playlist. setup_questionnaire_button.jpg
    Step 2: Once your playlist is configured, our team will send you login credentials to access the ADA® TV app on your Amazon Firestick or Samsung SmartTV to begin streaming! ⏯️

  3. To download the ADA TV app, follow the steps below that correspond with your device:

    • 1. Select the Find option
      2. Search for "ADA TV" in the APPS & GAMES section
      3. Download the ADA TV app 
      👉 Note: Although the ADA TV app is FREE, Amazon Fire TV requires you to have a valid credit card on file to download any paid or free app. 
      4. Once downloaded, launch the ADA TV app:
      5. Log in with your generated app credentials provided in your setup instructions email

    • 1. Navigate to Apps 
      2. Search for "ADA TV" and select the app
      3. Download the app
      4. When the installation is complete, open the app to launch ADA TV

    Login and Stream Content:

    Open the app and enter the credentials sent to you via email to Login ➡️ adatv_app.png
    Begin streaming videos in your waiting room ➡️

    1. Find and select the ADA TV app on your device
    2. Navigate to the START button on the ADA TV screen, press Select to start playing your default playlist

  4. Once you have logged into your ADA TV app, you can now set your Chyron/Ticker newsfeed through https://mysecurepractice.com.  

    This includes real-time newsfeed tickers that appear as a banner across the bottom of the screen. The information pulled in is headlines based on zip code, with choices from the following categories: sports, finance, weather, and news.

    Please note:

    The ticket/chyron will NOT display over any videos which include closed captions. Closed captions are located at the bottom of the screen, and we give priority to showing this over the ticker/chyron: Once the video with closed captions has been completed, on a video with no closed caption or images you will find the Chyron/Ticker display at the bottom of your screen as seen below:

    Turn On your Chyron/Ticker Newsfeed

          1. Within a browser, log in to https://mysecurepractice.com 
          2. Select the ADA TV icon from your dashboard
          3. Within the table labeled "Devices in account" select the Actions drop-down of the device needed (you may have more than 1 device setup here)
          4. Select the Device Settings option
          5. Select the Chyron On checkbox 
          6. The below options will appear:
            1. Financial News
            2. Health News
            3. Entertainment News
            4. Sports News
          7. Select the checkbox to the LEFT for each category you would like to enable on your app
          8. Once your selection is complete, select the Save button located in the top right hand corner:
          9. You must Re-sync your app so the Chyron/Ticker displays on your TV.
            *If you don't want to re-sync your device now, your device will automatically re-sync every 24hrs. (You will see the updated settings then.)

    Turn Off your Chyron/Ticker Newsfeed

        1. Within a browser, log in to https://mysecurepractice.com 
        2. Select the ADA TV icon from your dashboard
        3. Within the table labeled "Devices in account" select the Actions drop-down of the device needed (you may have more than 1 device setup here)
        4. Select the Device Settings option
        5. Unselect the Chyron On checkbox 
        6. Select the Save button located in the top right hand corner:
        7. You must re-sync your app so the Chyron/Ticker can be removed from your TV.
          *If you don't want to re-sync your device now, your device will automatically re-sync every 24hrs. (You will see the updated settings then.)
