  • Terms & Definitions
    Domain A domain is the website name you type in to visit a site — like revenuewell.com. Businesses buy domains from companies like GoDaddy or Bluehost.
    Subdomain

    A subdomain adds extra parts to your main domain to organize content. It shows up before the main domain name. Examples:

    • help.revenuewell.com

    • blog.revenuewell.com
    Domain Name System

    Think of DNS like the internet’s phone book. It connects the name you type (like revenuewell.com) to the actual IP address (like 75.2.70.75) where the website lives. Without DNS, users would need to remember long strings of numbers to access websites—no thanks!
    Nameservers

    These are special servers that store the info needed to connect a domain to its website. They tell the internet where to direct traffic for websites, emails, and other services.
    DNS Zone Files A zone file is a collection of DNS records stored on nameservers that control where domain traffic goes.

      • Values being requested to change.
      • All changes.

We need at least 24 hours advanced notice to accommodate the changing of the DNS records. While we will do our best to accommodate needs, we cannot make DNS changes after hours. We will only make DNS changes for approved individuals. If a practices IT is requesting changes, we need approval from the practice to make the documented changes. This should also be a written record, and can done by cc'ing the office staff in the email ticket thread.
